CONF. 12 RETURN AND RECURRENCE

A man is what his life is; if a man modifies nothing within himself, if he does not radically transform his life, if he does not work on himself, he is miserably wasting his time.

Death is the return to the very beginning of one's life with the possibility of repeating it.

People often provide us with excessive information about Pseudo-Esoteric and Pseudo-Occultist literature on the subject of successive lives; we should, however, concern ourselves with consecutive existences.

The life of each one of us, with all its times, is always the same, repeating from existence to existence, through innumerable centuries.

Unquestionably, we continue to be the seed of our descendants; this has already been demonstrated.

The life of each one of us, in particular, is a living film that we take with us to eternity upon dying.

Each one of us takes their film and brings it back to project it again on the screen of a new existence.

The Law of Recurrence and the "Egos" The repetition of dramas, comedies, and tragedies is a fundamental axiom of the Law of Recurrence.

In each new existence, the same circumstances are always repeated. The actors of such ever-repeated scenes are those entities that live within our interior, the "psychological defects."

If we disintegrate those actors, those “defects” that originate the constantly repeated scenes of our life, then the repetition of the circumstances would become impossible.

Obviously, without actors, there can be no scenes; this is irrefutable, undeniable.

This is how we can free ourselves from the Return and Recurrence Laws; thus, we can become truly free.

Obviously, each of the characters (defects) that we carry within repeats the same role from existence to existence; if we disintegrate them, if the actor dies, the role concludes.

By seriously reflecting on the Recurrence Law, or repetition of scenes in each Return, we discover, through intimate self-observation, the secret springs of this matter.

If in the past existence, at the age of twenty-five (25), we had a love affair, it is indubitable that the "defect" of such a commitment will seek out the lady of its dreams at twenty-five (25) years of age in the new existence.

If the lady in question was only fifteen (15) years old, the "defect" of such an adventure will seek its beloved in the new existence at precisely the same age.

It is clear that the two "defects," both his and hers, telepathically seek each other out and reunite to repeat the same love story from a past existence.

Two enemies who fought and killed each other in a past existence will seek each other out again in the new existence to repeat their tragedy at the corresponding age.

If two people had a dispute over real estate at the age of forty (40) in the past existence, at the same age, they will telepathically seek each other out in the new existence to repeat the same event.

Inside us, many entities live with commitments; that is irrefutable.

A thief carries within him a "cave" of thieves with various criminal commitments. The murderer carries within himself a "club" of murderers, and the lustful one carries a "brothel" in his psyche.

The serious thing about all this is that the intellect ignores the existence of such entities or "defects" within itself and of such commitments that fatally fulfill themselves.

All these commitments of the "defects" that dwell within us happen below our reason.

They are facts we ignore, things that happen to us, events processed in the subconscious and unconscious.

Rightly, it has been told to us that everything happens to us, as when it rains or when it thunders.

We truly have the illusion of doing, yet we do nothing; it happens to us, this is fatal, mechanical…

Our personality is merely the instrument of different entities (defects), through which each of these entities (defects) fulfills its commitments.

Many things happen beyond our cognitive capacity; unfortunately, we ignore what happens beyond our poor reasoning.

We believe ourselves wise when in truth we do not even know that we do not know. We are miserable logs dragged by the raging waves of the sea of existence.

To escape this misfortune, this unconsciousness, this lamentable state in which we find ourselves, is only possible by dying within ourselves...

How could we awaken without previously dying? Only with death comes the new\! If the seed does not die, the plant is not born.

Whoever truly awakens acquires, for that reason, full objectivity of their consciousness, authentic illumination, happiness…
